A week ago, I attended an English course at inlingua Edinburgh. The overall atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. In my course, there were three other students and we got along very well. Our teachers, one Scottish and one Australian, were brilliant.
As we were in an advanced class, we worked a lot on vocabulary. Our errors in grammar and vocabulary we were discussed in a way that never made us feel bad. During the breaks we got together with all the other students from quite a few different countries, which was a lot of fun. Friday is “cookies Friday”. Inglingua provided them, including gluten free cookies which I think is a very nice thought (one of my friends is allergic to gluten, she would have loved it)! So, very good teachers, an atmosphere that makes you feel very welcome and free exercises – climbing the stairs became easier every day.
For me, inlingua Edinburgh is the best language school so far!
I had an amazing “proficiency warm up week” at inlingua a few weeks ago. I managed to pass the exam with an A and I attribute this success partly to the incredibly useful lessons I got at inlingua. I’d recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn a language from highly capable teachers, without pressure and in a positive environment.
Fantastic central school, with lovely staff and excellent teachers. Alan helped me prepare my CPE with a few private lessons as I needed to meet when my timetable allowed and to focus on my specific needs. It worked! I passed with a Grade A (222 out of 230)!!! Thanks to all at inLingua for your help and support.

A school with great staff, activities conducted in an interesting and varied way. I recommend it to everyone. The school is located in the center, all the staff helpful and organized. The classes were stress free.

The best English school to study for a few weeks in Edinburgh. Not only because the immersion is total thanks to the method of the classes, the teachers and staff are very friendly and help you with everything you need. Every so often you change teachers with a different accent! The first day, after classes, they meet in a park to get to know your classmates better! and the rest of the days they organize walks around the city, whiskey tasting, Scottish dancing, museums, etc.
Whether your level is B1 or C1 and you want to improve it, I highly recommend this school. LGTBI friendly place.
La mejor escuela de inglés para estudiar unas semanas en Edimburgo. No solo porque la inmersión sea total gracias al método de las clases, los profesores y el personal son muy amables y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites. Cada cierto tiempo cambias de profesor con un acento diferente! El primer día, después de las clases, hacen un encuentro en un parque para conocer mejor a tus compañeros! y el resto de días organizan paseos por la ciudad, cata de whisky, baile escocés, museos, etc. Tanto si tu nivel es un B1 como un C1 y quieres mejorarlo, recomiendo mucho esta escuela. Lugar LGTBI friendly.
I’ve been taking one-to-one Spanish lessons (one hour a week) with Inlingua online since January 2021. It’s been an amazing experience and I can’t quite believe how much progress I’ve made, from total beginner at the start. My teacher, Maria, is BRILLIANT – honestly I think the best language teacher I’ve ever had (I did French at school, and have taken a year of Japanese, a semester of German and some Mandarin classes previously. I was apprehensive about online learning, but you get used to it quickly and Maria’s relaxed, easygoing nature quickly helped me overcome my ingrained nervousness around making mistakes. I wanted to make a good amount of progress quickly, before moving into group classes, and that’s exactly what I’ve managed to do. What I hadn’t expected was that I’d fall in love with language learning – Maria’s patience and expert knowledge of grammar (and how to explain it to Brits who don’t get taught linguistics/grammar at school) have made the experience immensely enjoyable. I cannot recommend her highly enough, and dealing with the Inlingua office team has been seamless too. ¡Muchas gracias Maria – estoy enamorada del español!
I took a few private lessons for German before going over to meet my girlfriend’s family for the first time. My teacher was a lovely woman called Laura, who helped me to feel at ease with helping me at my own pace and not pushing to far to fast. I would definitely consider more lessons in the future.
I spent a week at this school and it was amazing! The staff are very helpful and the teachers are engaging and well-prepared. I learnt a lot here, and they also organise a lot of programmes. Highly recommended!
I am very pleased with the course that suited my needs. The teachers are very competent, helpful and kind. School is great. It’s nice that you can drink coffee or tea during the break. There is even coffee milk, and on Fridays they serve sweets. There is sightseeing every day after class.
I was on a one-week Erasmus Plus Teacher Training course and I strongly recommend this school. The classes they offer are beyond expectations. Language classes, methodology classes and cultural programme are very well prepared and run by expert teachers. I had the pleasure of participating in classes with Marc, Mark, Phil and Greg. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a pity I couldn’t sign up for a two-week course.
I attended Inlingua for a German conversation class for twelve weeks to the end of 2017. I found the course to be consistently stimulating and well targeted to my abilities and the abilities of my fellow students. I would have no hesitation in recommending either Stefanie, the class teacher, or Inlingua to anyone.
Excellent English course in beautiful Edinburg
I attended the language school inLingua for 3 weeks, I was very satisfied with the quality of the course and the lecturers. Although I was studying 6 hours a day, I was never bored. Lessons were always very varied and interesting. The individual teachers were alternating in the middle of the week so we could always listen to another accent. They were all very nice and helped us when we did not understand something. I also welcomed out-of-school activities, walks through the city, visits to the theatres, museums and pubs accompanied by a lecturer. It was great, we could get to know better with the other students and talk from the morning to the evening. I can recommend the inLingua school in beautiful Edinburgh to everyone.

I went to Edinburgh in February to improve my english for my new job in Italy. It was an amazing experience for me, Edinburgh is a beautiful city (Marc, I use beautiful not like in italian but because I really think that Edinburgh is amazing!) and in Inlingua I found such friendly people that I can’t forget them!! Inlingua isn’t only a very good school but also a place where people have a name, a face, an heart. I found so many special friends from many different countries: Chisa, Chime, Alberto, Mehtap, Ammar, Loic, Chiara… I want say THANKS to the teachers Marc, Tim, Phil, Alan, Linda for their patient, passion,humor and the many activities organized for the students. I want say THANKS Inlingua for this amazing three weeks! And I want say THANKS to Edinburgh because you awaked my soul. Ciao Inlingua, I hope to see you soon!!!
I did a business course in August and the whole experience was amazing. I have very good memories from that time. I had two teachers, Nicholas and Mark and both of them were fantastic. I would like to say you thanks very much for your knowledges. All the activities that the school did in the afternoons were fantastic too. The staff was really kind with all the students. I am sure that next time, I will repeat the experience. Thanks for everything¡¡
I enjoyed the lessons. I chose this school because it was the only one to offer 30 lessons / week in Edinburgh. Very good teachers trying to give the best to the students. Warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I really suggest inlingua Edinburgh if you want to improve your English level. High quality courses, experienced native teachers, small groups at class and with a social programme every week to improve your English with other students and teachers. Personally, I spent a very good time and I met a lot of friends there!
Nice place, nice people, perfect to improve your english but also to know everything about Edinburgh. And if you want to play golf the school will give you an outstanding teacher!

I had no idea of what Inlingua Edinburgh would be as an English school. To be honest, it was part of my mobility programme so I did not choose it. What I found out was that it was not only a place to learn, but also a place to immerse into the Scottish culture. It was a place to visit the city and museums with the well-cultured Marc, to challenge my beer skills with the entertaining Tim, to taste the best whiskey in the world with the sweet Suzie (member of the Scottish whisky society, and to enjoy the Ceilidh dance, in the church-shaped pub Ghillie Dhu. As a result, the attractive activities combined with great classes made for the best way to learn and understand English! If I have had to choose, I would have chosen Inlingua Edinburgh without any hesitation!
The school is well-located. It is a small and very comfortable school. Everybody is friendly. I had a problem with my accommodation, and on the first day of class they asked me if everything was okay. During the week the director asked me again if I was okay with my room. The teachers are tops. Every week you have two different teachers. The social program is very varied and sometimes very exciting. I would recommend this school with my eyes closed, mainly because they don’t have a lot of teenagers unlike other schools in July. Best thing about the school – their mascot! Edinburgh is a lovely city, despite the rain. People are friendly, they have pleasant streets and pubs – wonderful.

The school was great: its location, the teachers, and the classes that I attended were all great. The residence house where I was living in was great too. It was in the centre, close to a big park, and its facilities were just right. The activities of the school helped me to meet new people and the amazing city.

J’ai suivi des cours pendant un mois à inlingua edinburgh et je recommande fortement ! Les effectifs réduits dans chaque classe sont un gage de qualité pour chaque leçon et cela permet aux professeurs de se soucier de chaque étudiant et facilite les interactions en général. En plus, l’organisation de l’école fait que l’on rencontre forcément plein de gens d’horizons différents, et les activités extra scolaires organisées tous les jours par l’école renforcent également ce rapprochement entre étudiants. Bref, que de bons souvenirs et de positif qui ressortent de cette expérience !
I joined inlingua for a month and I highly recommend it! The small numbers of students in each class are a guarantee of quality for each lesson and this allows teachers to care about each student and facilitates interactions. In addition, the daily activities help student to meet new friend. I’ll keep good and positive memories from this experience!

W czerwcu 2017 r. uczestniczyłyśmy w kursie języka angielskiego w Edynburgu ( Inlingua school). Jesteśmy pod ogromnym wrażeniem tego przepięknego miasta i przesympatycznych Szkotów!!! Ciekawe, urozmaicone zajęcia w małych grupach stwarzały bardzo dobrą możliwość doskonalenia języka. Bardzo mili, kompetentni i pełni humoru nauczyciele tworzyli wspaniałą atmosferę pracy, w każdej sytuacji mogłyśmy liczyć na pomoc i życzliwość pracowników szkoły. Możliwość poznania wielu ciekawych ludzi, nawiązania nowych kontaktów dopełnia reszty. To były naprawdę niezapomniane, cudowne dwa tygodnie z zaledwie dwoma deszczowymi dniami! Polecamy wszystkim!!! In June 2017, we attended an English class at inlingua Edinburgh. We are so impressed with this beautiful city and loved the strong Scottish whisky! We enjoyed interesting and varied activities in small groups. That created a good opportunity to practice our English. Our professional, lovely and friendly teachers created a wonderful atmosphere of work. The school staff was very helpful and kind. We met interesting people and made new contacts. It was two unforgettable and wonderful weeks with just two rainy days! We recommend to everyone !!! Beata and Magda

I came here because my english teacher in Spain was coming here for a summer job. It’s a great city and I like my teachers and classmates. All the classes have small group of students and the atmosphere is great in all of them. If you come here you will not regret it.
I met very good teachers in Edinburgh. During my one-week stay, I met three of them. Each was completely different from one another. They had interesting personalities, which is what I found most important. I learned a lot, and also visited the Fringe, Bookfestival. (I bought many very good books, and had the rare pleasure of meeting some authors). The Director of Inlingua Edinburgh even offered me an instrument so I could practice. (I am a busy pianist; one of the conditions of my stay in Edinburgh was to have a place where I could play the piano). My host was great. She gave me not only food and the roof over my head, but also friendship and knowledge of a rare kind. I felt extremely safe and comfortable. The spirit of Edinbugh stays with me all the time. I miss the people and the city very much. Thank you!
